Research and Collaboration
ICHA conducts research in a number of different areas related to cardiovascular disease prevention in developing communities. Our diverse team of academics, medical professionals, educators, and researchers utilizes cutting-edge cardiovascular and primary prevention research to create a comprehensive training curriculum for community health workers. ICHA works with educators and clinicians to implement effective teaching methods and create innovative community health programs grounded on evidence-based cardiovascular disease interventions.
In addition, there is a severe lack of baseline data on chronic disease prevalence rates in developing world communities. In collaboration with tertiary care centers and prominent research institutions such as the University of California, San Francisco, ICHA is involved in an epidemiological analysis of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality rates in developing world communities. ICHA analyzes the prevalence of various cardiovascular risk factors, mortality rates, and the efficacy of cardiovascular risk factor intervention in these communities.
At home, ICHA also engages in intensive ongoing research to ensure the efficacy of its programs and to stay up-to-date on cutting-edge developments in the area of cardiovascular disease prevention. In developing its community initiatives, ICHA relies on extensive cultural and community-specific research so that each initiative can be tailored most effectively to its target community.
